What is CQ15-CD?

CQ15-CD is CQ15 supplied in the CD condition — cold-work strengthened condition for bright bar, shafts and screws formed with modest deformation. CQ15-CD has a yield strength of 360 MPa (52.2 ksi) and a tensile strength of 440 MPa (63.8 ksi) — weaker than 72% of steel grades. Elongation at break is 14% and the elastic modulus is 205 GPa (29.7 Msi). CQ15-CD has a density of 7.87 g/cm³ (0.284 lb/in³), heavier than 91% of steel grades. It melts at 1,470°C (2,678 °F). HR is the default condition FabDigit quotes; CD is available on request or by drawing note.
