Machines like a medium-carbon steel at ~60% of 1212; best in annealed/normalized state with rigid setups, carbide tooling and copious coolant — the high Mn makes chips gummy and work-hardening prone above 300 HB.
Can 1330 be welded?
Weldable with low-hydrogen electrodes but C≈0.30 plus 1.75 Mn gives high hardenability: preheat 200–300 °C, control interpass, and stress-relieve or re-temper after welding; avoid welding in the fully hardened condition.
Can 1330 be formed, bent or molded?
