410S Annealed is 410S in the Annealed temper — standard stocked condition for plate, sheet, bar and tube; maximum weldability and formability, non-hardening. 410S Annealed has a yield strength of 265 MPa (38.4 ksi) and a tensile strength of 460 MPa (66.7 ksi) — weaker than 80% of stainless steel grades. Elongation at break is 30% and the elastic modulus is 200 GPa (29 Msi). 410S Annealed has a density of 7.7 g/cm³ (0.278 lb/in³), lighter than 83% of stainless steel grades. It melts at 1,480°C (2,696 °F).

Machines like a soft 12Cr stainless (~60 % of 1212): use rigid setups, sharp positive-rake carbide, moderate speed with heavy flood coolant to avoid gumming and work-hardened skins.
Can 410S be welded?
Readily welded by GTAW/GMAW/SMAW with 309L or matching filler; 150–250 °C preheat plus 700–760 °C post-weld anneal is recommended on thick sections to restore HAZ ductility.
Can 410S be formed, bent or molded?
Cold forms and roll-bends adequately but with higher springback and less stretch than 304; allow generous bend radii and avoid severe deep drawing.
